I will even admit to reading Biggest Loser articles and blogs. I especially love this one on Entertainment Weekly. Mostly I go to it just to read the nasty comments left by viewers such as myself.
Remember the whole shenanigan that went done a few weeks ago about one of the black team contestants, Dane? You know, the one who only ran 23.2 miles of a marathon? And then the entire running community backlashed against him? No, I'm not going to beat this dead horse one more time, but I just wanted to say that one of my friends from Salt Lake met him.
And I'm totally jealous!
Whitney just finished the Salt Lake City Half Marathon and while there she ran into Dane and Blaine, who also just finished the half marathon.
Number one: I'm jealous because I L O V E the black team.
Number two: I'm jealous because she got to run the Salt Lake Half, which was the half marathon I ran last year, was hoping to run it this year, but because of my current situation (ie., moving to Florida), could not make it back to Utah, thus missing my chance to also meet the black team. Bummer.
But, way to go Whitney for finishing the half in 2 hours and 22 minutes, even on an injured knee.
Anyway, I do have my claim at meeting a Biggest Loser contestant, albeit it was before this season's show started. I'll save that story for another day (maybe tomorrow?), but I did indeed meet Aubrey from the yellow team.

It's quite the story, so tune in!
And on a completely unrelated note...remember this shirt from a week ago?

The one I bought for my birthday?! I got another one, but in pink. Next paycheck I'm shooting for the black one, and then the next paycheck I want the gray one. I have permission from the husband to reward myself with new running gear, and I'm going to keep him on the promise.
Reward for what, you ask? Well, for being a completely and utterly awesome wife, who works at a crappy job just to help my husband get through grad school, and because I think he loves me just that much. Yay husband.
And just to put a plug in for this shirt, it's amazing. As in, I wish I could wear this running tank everyday, everywhere. It's comfortable, lightweight, and is made out of the best sweat-wicking material I've ever worn. I love it. Love. It. Thanks, Nike! Best of all, it's only 24.99. Check it out. Now.
Oh yay! I love you to tell my special story! And I loved meeting Blaine and Dane. Dane was seriously so cool and I made I contact with him a couple of times after pictures and got smiles and helped him find Blaine when they got seperated. I love them! Thanks for sharing my story!
ReplyDeleteOh, and by the way... they both beat me in. Blaine came in around 2:07 and Dane finished in 2:13. I can't wait to hear about your story with Aubrey!
ReplyDeleteEhhh...yeah that marathon story was a fiasco. That's cool your friend met them though! I love the Biggest Loser. Ali is my all time favorite contestant.
