Thankful

Today I'm thankful.

I'm thankful that running exists. I'm thankful I have the ability to run. I'm thankful that running is constant. I'm so thankful for running.

I'm thankful for my family. I miss them. I'm excited to see them in five days. (!!!) I know they miss me, and want me to come home for good. I hope one day they'll understand why I'll never move back to Utah, and I certainly hope they'll forgive me for that. Maybe if I promise to spend all of my vacation time in Utah? ;) I'm thankful for their love and support.

Life is funny. It's always at times when I feel sad/frustrated/confused/lost that I remember how much there is to be thankful for.

But seriously, thank god for running. Because when my mom or sister is not close by to give me a hug, it's nice to know that a little sweat can change my mood around. (And, yes, I may be 28 years old, but I'll never be too old for a good ol' fashioned hug from my family. Not ashamed.)

I'm thankful that I decided to become a runner way back in 2007. It may be the best decision I've ever made in life.

(I apologize, readers, for the weird post. Maybe I should start a journal, so I don't bore you with my sentimental thoughts?! haha. I promise that my next post will include a rather hilarious story about running in a torrential downpour. Because yep. It happened.)
