Long Run: Check!

I ran 9 miles tonight. I hadn't run that far since before the Wasatch Back, sometime in early June. I was wondering if I still had a long run in me after that two week hiatus, and it turns out I did.

Don't you love it when you can just pick right back up where you left off?

And on a completely unrelated note, I saw something like this on a treadmill earlier this week:

I thought to myself, "Honey, you don't need to be at the gym. You need to be at McDonalds eating a few Big Macs, yeah?"

Okay, okay, all joking aside, I felt more sad for her than anything. I know I have self-image issues, but please, please, don't ever let me get to that point. I'll take my size 8, thankyouverymuch.

  1. Wow, that picture is really sad. I'm always wanting to lose weight but that really makes you realize how unhealthy it can be.

  3. Dang... I haven't done more than 4 miles since my half marathon over a month ago. I need to do better!
    P.S. That picture made me ill. And it also makes me want to eat a bag of cookies.

  4. If I'm being honest I probably didn't eat enough in college to run much more that 6 miles. Luckily I never looked like that though. And luckily long distance running has helped me a ton in terms of body image self conciousness.

    There is a girl at my gym that is soooo skinny people have speculated she has some kind of ED. She works out all the time, but never very intensely. It's like she's too small to actually be fit. Breaks my heart :(
