...don't go running immediately after laying out in the sun for an hour.
My run today was exponentially sucktastic. I planned on 6 miles. Ended up with 4.5 miles. Not 4.5 good miles, 4.5 crappy miles.
Why? I was freakin' hot. And not in the "va-va-voom" sort of way. I wanted to get a little sun on my white body, so I took the opportunity to lay out in the Florida sun. It was just an hour. But little did I know how much I would sweat just laying on a blanket. And I couldn't cool down afterwards.
And my run sucked because I was so. freakin'. hot. After mile 2 I seriously considered stripping down to nothing, it was THAT hot.
How do people expect me to run outside during the summer in Florida? Get up at the butt crack of dawn?! Ha. We all know I don't do mornings.
Maybe I should spend less time trying to darkify myself, and more time darkifying myself while running (ugly tan lines, though...). Just a thought.
Laying out certainly saps you of energy. My plan was always to run and then quickly change into my bikini to lay on the deck. Worked pretty well. The tan lines were still there, but it helped a little.
ReplyDeleteI hate to say it, but summers does mean the butt crack of dawn. I don't run outside here in the south in the summer unless I begin my run at 6 or 6:30. Maybe 7. And you'll be incredibly sweaty even at that hour. I'm NOT a night exerciser. I don't sleep as well. But if you are, night is also an option.
ReplyDeleteNever have had this problem, if only I tanned ;)
