"It's a major award!"

Unbeknownst to me, Alicia, over at Alicia Runs gave me a most prestigious award. It's just a little somethin', somethin' that's been floating around the running blogosphere as of late. Ladies and gentlemen, I present you with my major award!*

Thanks, girl! The rules of the award are as follows: Post 7 random facts about myself, and then give the award to 7 other people. Sweet. So here they are. Seven random facts about yours truly that you probably don't really care to know, but may find interesting just the same.

1. I strongly dislike washing/styling my hair. In fact, dislike is too nice of a word. I LOATHE it. This doesn't mean that I'm a dirty girl, with greasy hair. I still wash it every day. Every morning when I wake up and think about how much time I'm going to need to spend on my hair (which really isn't all that long...20 minutes, tops?), I want to curl in a ball and hide under the blankets. Why, oh, why can't I be a man sometimes? Wake up, shower 5 minutes, rinse off hair, and go.

2. I was a choir nerd in high school. Hard core choir nerd. It was my life and I embraced it full-heartedly. That's probably where I get my strong love for Glee. Love that show.

3. I am also a font nerd. I love fonts, and can argue with the best of them whether or not the right font is used in certain contexts. That's my document design background, for ya. Word to the wise. Don't ever use Comic Sans. I cringe every time I see that font. The font is just as it sounds -- comical, and should not be used in professional settings. Rant over.

4. Last January was the first time I'd ever been east of the Mississippi. For reals. It's like a completely different world over here on this side of the country! So many people!

5. I spent my honeymoon in Vegas. Yeah, baby! I love The Vegas!

6. I'm currently in the process of obtaining my teaching certificate for secondary education. I will officially be able to apply for teaching jobs in the fall. Yay.

7. Sometimes I can be quite the domestic goddess. Last year I planted my own vegetable garden, and come fall, canned every last one of those veggies. Who knew pressure cookers could be so fun?

Tricia, over at Endurance Isn't Only Physical, has posted yet another giveaway. Be sure to head on over there to check out the RoadID she's giving away free of charge. Damn! Why can't I be popular enough for companies to send me stuff to giveaway?

In running news, I did 7 X 400m repeats last night. Wow. I've lost some speed. Need to work on that. Also worked out my legs and abs for the first time in who knows how long, and I'm def feeling the effects today. One word. OUCH.

*Five points for the first person to name that movie.

  1. Congrats on your award! I love reading and learning more about people.

I love #1, I feel the same way! A lot of times, I'll just clip it up so that I don't have to bother with it.
#3 made me totally chuckle and congrats on your #6! Yay for you girl!

*I wish that I could earn the five points, but I have not a clue!

  4. Woot for the award! :) Love your facts! I'm a huge font nerd, too! Comic Sans is definitely NOT professional, I totally agree. And I'm not the biggest fan of Gigi either. Uck.

    Keep up those awesome repeats!

  6. Font nerd -- I love that. I actually have a similar sickness...I proof about everything I read and have sent marked up articles in to newspaper and magazine editors.

My name is Mike and I have a problem.

  7. I am exactly like you on #1. I wish I could just wash and go. I put off taking a shower on Saturdays till almost noon because I don't want to wash my hair. Ugh.

  9. And because of your choir nerdiness, you and I are friends. Guess what? You are even in my scrapbook from the choir tour to Disneyland. Didn't we even share a room together? Awesome.
